The Bowling Green Kiwanis Club sold a record number of daffodil bouquets during its recent fundraiser.
Faced with the inability to hold its two pancake breakfast fundraisers in the past year, the Kiwanis Club put extra efforts into its annual daffodil sales.
“This is something we do every year,” said Jason Miller, of the BG Kiwanis Club. “But we don’t normally sell this many.”
The club sold a total of 1,250 bouquets, with 10 flowers in each. Kiwanis members met at Klotz Floral Design and Garden to wrap the bouquets.
In addition to people ordering the daffodils for family and friends, there were nearly 300 bouquets ordered to be donated to nursing homes, hospitals and homebound seniors.
“That’s the most we’ve ever had,” Miller said.
“We can’t meet in person. We can’t get together. But at least we can do something,” Miller said.
