BG man arrested after taking police on low-speed chase

A man was picked up early this morning after leading Bowling Green Police Division on a low-speed chase.

BG police received a request at 5:32 a.m. from Lucas County Sheriff’s Office to pick up Andrew Hildebrand, 40, of Bowling Green, according to BG Police Major Justin White. Hildebrand reportedly had a warrant through Maumee Municipal Court and additional charges for damages at his parents’ home in Lucas County.

Bowling Green officers went to his home in the 300 block of Parkview, where they saw Hildebrand driving away.

Police attempted to stop him, but he reportedly failed to comply.

Police pursued Hildebrand northbound on Ohio 25. According to White, Hildebrand was driving at or below the speed limit during the chase. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Patrol picked up the chase at Ohio 582, with the patrol stopping Hildebrand near the Interstate 75 split at Interstate 475.

Hildebrand was taken to the Wood County jail. He was charged by Bowling Green Police Division for failure to comply, a red light violation and failure to have two headlights on.
