BG man arrested for domestic violence after alleged victim sent emoji code for help

Bowling Green Police arrested a man for domestic violence Tuesday evening after he reportedly injured a woman who refused to do his homework for him.

Christopher Robinson, 22, was arrested at an apartment in the 1000 block of Fairview Avenue, and taken to Wood County Jail.

Police received a call from a friend of the victim around 6:30 p.m., after the woman received a text from her friend showing an emoji that the two had agreed would be a call for help. The two had come up with the code system since the victim had reportedly been injured in the past by Robinson.

The alleged victim told police that when she refused to continue doing Robinson’s college homework, he reportedly threatened to kill her. He reportedly slapped her face, leaving a red mark under her eye. Her wrist had a swollen bruise and her hand had a bite mark, according to the police report.
