The Bowling Green man charged with kidnapping after a road rage incident reportedly made a teenage boy drive him to a store to get oil, and threatened to shoot the boy and leave him by the side of the road.
Christopher Fox, 37, of Bowling Green, was taken to Wood County Jail.
The incident occurred on the evening of July 11, on East Napoleon Road.
The teen told police that he was driving down East Napoleon Road, when he almost missed his turn, so he slowed quickly. A motorcycle, driven by Fox, appeared to bump his car and fall over.
The teen reportedly got out of his car to make sure the motorcyclist was not injured. Fox reportedly started yelling at the boy for “short-stopping” him.
Fox reportedly continued to yell at the teen and asked him if he had any money. The teen said he didn’t have any money, and Fox reportedly told him he was lucky he didn’t shoot him or beat him and leave him on the side of the road.
Fox reportedly told the teen that he would have to drive him to an auto supply store to get oil for the motorcycle, since oil had spilled out onto the road.
The teen said the man made comments like “I own you until I release you” or “the job was done.” The teenager said the Fox demanded to see his driver’s license and when he showed it to him the man grabbed it and took a picture of it.
The motorcyclist reportedly told the teen his name was “Foxy.” Fox reportedly got into the passenger seat and had the teen drive him to the store. During the drive, Fox reportedly told the teen that if the bike didn’t start, he would hurt the teenager.
When they got to the auto supply store, Fox continued to yell at him. The teen said he tried to mouth “help me” to the clerk, but she didn’t notice.
When they returned to the bike, Fox reportedly made the teen pour oil into the motorcycle while Fox called his clubhouse for the “Demons of Grace” motorcycle club, and asked for some of his friends to come help. Fox reportedly told the teen that he would have to go to the clubhouse to make sure the bike was OK.
The teen told police that when Fox’s friends arrived to Napoleon Road, they calmed down Fox.
Fox then let the teenager leave the scene.
The teen’s family told police they were concerned about retaliation if they proceeded with charges, especially since Fox had taken a photo of their son’s driver’s license.
Police talked with two employees at the auto supply store, who were working on the evening when Fox and the teen came to the store. They both remembered the two coming in, and the older man yelling and cursing at the younger man. One employee said it appeared the boy was scared and visibly shaking.
The teen offered to pay for the oil, but the man reportedly said “I don’t need mommy and daddy’s money.” The clerk said she was scared of the older man and tried to check him out quickly.
The man, Fox, reportedly offered his rewards number during the transaction, and was identified by his number.
