BG man charged with shouting in street, spitting on officers, scratching nurse

A Bowling Green man was arrested late Friday night after he reportedly stood in the street screaming about Jesus, spit on police officers, and later scratched a nurse in Wood County Hospital Hospital Emergency Department.

Bowling Green Police Division received a couple calls around 11:36 p.m. from residents in the area of Liberty Street and North Main Street about Jordan Willis Bulger, 28, screaming in the street.

A resident in the 100 block of Liberty Street said Bulger had been at his house, when he reportedly started yelling, throwing dishes in the kitchen, and smashed some potted plants. Bulger then reportedly opened a second story window, broke out the screen, and jumped out of the window onto the first story roof below.

Others at the residence said they had been drinking when Bulger “just flipped.” When police noted the smell of marijuana in the apartment, those present acknowledged they were smoking as well.

Police located Bulger near the corner of North Main and Clay streets, where he was shouting “praise Jesus.”

While police were trying to get his personal information, Bulger reportedly spat on two officers.

He was transported to Wood County Hospital. While there, Bulger reportedly scratched a nurse in the emergency department.

Bulger was charged with assault, criminal damaging, disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, and two counts of felony harassment with a bodily substance.
