Bowling Green Police Division charged a man with discharging a firearm in the city limits on Wednesday evening.
Police were called at 7:49 p.m., to a report of nine gunshots in the 2200 block of East Wooster Street, east of the Meijer store.
An officer spoke with a man at the residence, who said his roommate had shot a gun. Police contacted the roommate, Veelon Dewyer, 19, who came to the police station to speak with the officer.
Dewyer said he went outside to the southwest corner of the property to shoot a few rounds with his new AR-15. Dewyer said he believed he was well outside city limits and that it was permissible to shoot the firearm. He was cited for discharging a firearm in city limits.
