One man was flown by air ambulance to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, in Toledo, after being rescued from a fire by Bowling Green Fire Division.

The fire division received the call for the fire at Lamplight Court Apartments, 995 S. Main St., at 1:24 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they learned a man was inside the burning apartment, Lt. Brad Feehan said Tuesday evening.

The man was extricated, and the fire was extinguished. The apartment suffered extensive damage, but the fire was kept from damaging other apartments, Feehan said.

The status of the fire victim is unknown. The state fire marshal’s office is working with BG Fire Division to determine the cause of the fire.
