Bowling Green Police arrested a man for driving while intoxicated, receiving stolen property, and improper handling of a firearm, Saturday around 2 a.m.
Police pulled over Daryl Wallace, 38, on Lehman Avenue and Prospect Street, for improper driving maneuvers, and reportedly could smell alcohol in the vehicle. Wallace reportedly had difficulty providing his license, registration and proof of insurance, and instead began grabbing papers out of the glove compartment and showed a vehicle repair order.
Dispatch advised officers that Wallace’s driver’s license was already suspended. According to the police report, Wallace had difficulty performing the field sobriety tests. His BAC was found to be 0.162.
During a vehicle inventory before being towed, an officer found a loaded firearm in the center console. There were seven bullets in the magazine, and one bullet chambered. Dispatch advised the gun was stolen.
Wallace was taken to Wood County Jail.
