BG Parks and Recreation invites community to family-friendly ‘Halloweekend of Fun’

The City of Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is inviting the community to its “Halloweekend of Fun” on Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27. This weekend of family-friendly Halloween-themed activities is free for all participants and designed to offer safe, enjoyable experiences for all ages. No advanced registration is required for either event.

Spooky Saturday Family Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt

Wintergarden Nature Preserve

Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Families are encouraged to bring flashlights and join park staff at Wintergarden Nature Preserve for a pumpkin scavenger hunt. Participants will search along a designated three-quarter mile trail for Halloween-themed pumpkins. After completing the walk, children will be rewarded with sweet treats. Halloween costumes are welcome for added spooky fun. This drop-in event allows participants to arrive between 5 to 8 p.m., with the final trail departure at 8 p.m.

Rocktober Family Nerf Night & Halloween Activities

Bowling Green Community Center

Sunday, Oct. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Join the parks for the first-ever Rocktober Family Nerf Night & Halloween Activities at the Bowling Green Community Center. Families are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes while enjoying music, Nerf battles in the gym, arts and crafts, and games in the Play Zone. All Nerf equipment and protective eyewear will be provided, and outside Nerf gear is not permitted. This is a family event, so all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
