BG plans annual tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The City of Bowling Green Human Relations Commission is inviting the community to join in celebrating the 31st Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute. The event will be held Jan. 17, at 1:30 p.m., in the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St., Bowling Green.

The keynote speaker will be Jolie Sheffer, associate professor of English and American Culture Studies at Bowling Green State University.

Also at the event, the Human Relations Commission’s Honor Roll “Drum Major for Peace” recipient former Mayor Richard A. Edwards will be recognized.

Musical selections will be provided by the Bowling Green High School Madrigals. Instrumental music will be provided by Dr. Ed Duling.

The program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available.
