BG plans tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The City of Bowling Green Human Relations Commission will host the 33rd annual tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m.

The event will be held virtually on the City of Bowling Green’s YouTube Live channel – www.bgohio.org/meetings.

During this event, the Drum Major for Peace Award will be presented. This award is given to a citizen of BG who exemplifies the teachings and the values of King – courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility, and service. This year’s recipient is Beatriz Maya.

The tribute will feature keynote speakers BGSU student Arianna Bustos, and Welcome BG Coordinator Mojabeng Kamala. Various musical selections will be performed by the BGHS Madrigals and BGSU Music College Faculty Ariel Kasler.
