A Bowling Green man was charged with burglary after he reportedly tried to break into his roommate’s bedroom with a screwdriver.

BG Police were called to a home in the 100 South Prospect Street on Saturday at 3:47 a.m., by a man who said one of his roommates was trying to break into the bedroom of another roommate, who was locked inside.

When police arrived, they reportedly found Jarod King, 22, standing outside one of the bedroom doors, with a screwdriver on the ground. The door frame was split and the strike plate for the door was on the floor.

The roommate came out of his locked room, and told police that King had come home intoxicated and was slamming doors and objects in the house. The roommate told King he was drunk and should go to bed, then went to bed himself.

King reportedly tried to bust the door down, then got a screwdriver to try breaking in. He was taken to Wood County Jail.
