Man allegedly driving stolen vehicle arrested after leading police on foot chase

Bowling Green Police arrested a man after he reportedly led them on a foot chase Friday around 5 p.m.

Officers responded to an alert about a vehicle with a stolen license plate on a vehicle, and found the car at a gas station on East Wooster Street. An officer approached the vehicle and placed a handcuff on one wrist of Johnson Korvah, 25, of Canal Winchester, when Korvah reportedly took off running.

Korvah allegedly ran westward, jumped a fence and ran into a hotel parking lot. From there, he reportedly turned south and jumped another fence into a residential area on East Clough Street. He then allegedly turned east and jumped another fence into an apartment area, ran through backyards of the complex, then toward Interstate 75.

Ohio State Patrol’s K9 unit and BGSU Police joined the search. A trooper searching the area along I-75 reportedly located Korvah near a ditch along the interstate. As a trooper chased him on foot, a BG officer drove a cruiser up ahead, reportedly leading Korvah to stop running and lay on the ground.

It was discovered that the vehicle driven by Korvah was also stolen, and inside were 114 grams of marijuana and 160 grams of hashish gummies.

Korvah was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, drug abuse of marijuana and hashish, criminal trespassing, and obstructing official business. He was also cited for driving under suspension, and was taken to the Wood County Jail.
