Bowling Green Police Division arrested a man Sunday, around 12:33 a.m., for reportedly carrying a gun in a downtown bar.
Trent Davis, 20, Wauseon, was arrested and taken to the Wood County jail.
A staff member at Liquid Bar, 238 N. Main St., flagged down an officer who was on foot patrol about a man inside the bar with a firearm. Multiple complaints had been made to bar staff about a male carrying a gun.
Multiple officers entered the bar and located Davis.
Police asked Davis if he was carrying a gun. He repeatedly denied carrying a gun, and told police he was 21 years old. Davis reportedly tried to walk away from police. When officers grabbed his arms, Davis reportedly tried to pull away and struggled with officers. Officers took Davis to the ground, and he reportedly continued resisting being put in handcuffs.
Officers were eventually able to secure his arms with two pairs of handcuffs.
Police rolled Davis onto his side and pulled up his sweatshirt, reportedly finding a Glock 45 semi-automatic 9mm tucked in his waistband in his belly area. An officer removed the magazine which was loaded with 23 rounds of ammunition.
According to the police report, Davis had slurred speech. He told police he had consumed eight to 10 beers.
Davis was charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest, carrying concealed weapons, using weapons while intoxicated, possession of a firearm in beer/liquor permit premises, and underage/under the influence.
