Bowling Green Police responded to a report of an unknown man walking into a house in the 500 block of Ridge Street on Friday, at 10:23 p.m. The residents were able to get the man out of the house, but he reportedly kept trying to enter again.
Police were given a description of the man and his clothing, and found Riley Bird, 19, a student from Bay Village, walking westbound on Ridge Street near the railroad tracks.
When Bird was stopped and questioned about the incident, he reportedly refused to speak and tried to walk away. Police reported Bird had a strong odor of alcohol from his breath, slurred speech and difficulty maintaining balance.
As police tried to identify Bird, they found a wallet in his rear pocket with a New York driver’s license with his name on it. The license was run through dispatch, which reported no such license on file. Bird reportedly insisted he was from New York, and was 22 years old.
However, upon further search of the wallet, police located an Ohio driver’s license with the same name as the New York license. That license was run through dispatch and came back as valid.
Bird was reportedly adamant that the New York license was his. But when asked to state his address listed on the license, he was unable to, according to the report.
Bird was arrested for criminal trespass, underage/under the influence, and falsification. He was taken to Wood County Jail.
