Bowling Green Police arrested a customer Thursday for allegedly being intoxicated and trying to fight employees at Wings Over BG, at 215 E. Wooster St.
Chase McGarry, 20, of Sunbury, was charged with being underage under the influence, criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. He was taken to the Wood County jail.
Employees of the restaurant called police around 8:40 p.m., to report an intoxicated customer trying to fight employees. As an officer approached, he saw a man matching the description running north on North Prospect Street toward East Court Street.
The officer stopped McGarry, who was reportedly shouting and cursing. He told police he waited 45 minutes for his food, and was asked to leave when the food was done.
Another officer went to Wings Over BG, where the employees asked that McGarry not visit the restaurant again.
The employees reportedly told police that McGarry was cursing and threatening to “kick all their asses.” At one point he reportedly pushed through a swinging door to enter the area behind the counter where the employees were. The employees stopped him and pushed him out of the area and then out the front door. They stated they asked him several times to leave but he would not.
When an officer advised McGarry of the charges, McGarry reportedly started walking away. Police ordered him to stop, but he didn’t, according to the report. Two officers secured him to place him in handcuffs, but he broke free of one officer and reportedly tried to run north toward Court Street. He was restrained and placed in handcuffs.
McGarry then reportedly attempted to dig his heels into the ground to stop officers from taking him to the cruiser. During transport to the county jail, McGarry reportedly banged his head on the plastic partition several times.
