BG Police arrest teen after he reportedly choked his grandmother

Bowling Green Police arrested a 14-year-old boy early this morning after he reportedly choked his grandmother.

Police were called to the 300 block of Colony Lane, at 1:50 a.m., for a possible domestic violence in progress.

When officers knocked on the door, a young girl answered. She was breathing heavily, and officers asked what happened. She eventually pointed to her brother, and said he had tried choking his grandmother, and she and her younger sister pulled him off.

The grandmother told police that her grandson took her phone, and when she told him to give it back, he “went crazy.” He sometimes says he blacks out, the grandmother said.

The grandmother said she did not need medical attention.

Police placed the boy under arrest for domestic violence, and walked him out to the patrol car. Before getting in the car, the boy told police that his grandmother got angry when he threw a pillow. He said when he saw her on the phone, he thought she was calling his dad. He reportedly confirmed that his younger sisters pulled him off of his grandmother.

The boy was taken to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.
