Bowling Green police responded to City Park on Wednesday, at 12:49 p.m., for a reported domestic violence incident.
A family from Findlay was having lunch in the park, when the 17-year-old son became upset. He reportedly was yelling at his mother and throwing items at her. The teen then reportedly started banging his head on a tree, and wrapped his belt around his neck.
The mother said her son was stressed about school starting and the coronavirus. The teen told police he has PTSD due to his bad childhood before being adopted by his family.
The mother told police that last year her son had threatened her with a knife, and was sent to a psychiatric facility in Toledo.
The teen was taken to Wood County Hospital. After being cleared medically, he was to be charged with domestic violence and taken to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.
