Bowling Green police arrested three people downtown early Sunday morning – one for assaulting a bouncer, and two for menacing after one man reportedly threatened to “shoot the bar up.”
Police responded to a North Main Street bar around 12:50 a.m., and arrested Pernell Robertson, 20, of BGSU Offenhauer Towers, for disorderly conduct and menacing, and Robert Darrough, 21, of Napoleon Road, Bowling Green, for assault.
The bouncer at the bar told police he was working the door when Pernell refused to show his identification after repeated requests. Pernell then reportedly “squared up” and pushed the bouncer. The bouncer was able to subdue Pernell on the ground, until Pernell’s friend, Darrough, reportedly started to kick the bouncer.
According to the police report, the bouncer was able to get both men out the back door. Pernell reportedly told the bouncer that the next time he saw him, he was going to shoot him.
Pernell told police he was assaulted by bouncers. He admitted telling one bouncer that he was going to shoot him, but said he didn’t mean it because he didn’t have a gun.
Both Darrough and Pernell were taken to the Wood County jail.
About an hour later, at 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, police were called to another North Main Street bar. They arrested Marcus Garmon, 18, of Toledo, for menacing and underage under the influence of alcohol.
Garmon, reportedly said he was going to “shoot the bar up.” Garmon told police that the bouncer at the bar called him a racial slur before threatening to stab him. The bouncer denied that claim.
Garmon was taken to the Wood County jail.
