BG Police charge three men with fighting and allegedly running from officers

Bowling Green Police charged three men with fighting outside a bar on Sunday morning.

An officer on patrol around 1 a.m., reportedly saw the men throwing punches in a parking lot in the 300 block of East Wooster Street. When the officer activated the cruiser’s emergency lights, the three men stopped fighting and allegedly ran from the police.

Officers apprehended Robert Opalewski, 22, of Metamora, Michigan, who reportedly tried to break free. He was charged with disorderly conduct/fighting, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest. Opalewski posted bail at the police station.

The other two men were found hiding behind the garage in the backyard of a home in the 100 block of South Summit Street.

Toby Swayne, 18, Bowling Green, was charged with fighting, obstructing official business, underage under the influence and possession of hashish.

Cameron Person, 19, Bowling Green, was charged with fighting, obstructing official business, and altering the birthdate on a paper copy of his driver’s license.

Both Swayne and Person were taken to the Wood County Jail.
