Bowling Green Police Chief Tony Hetrick has announced his pending retirement, Mayor Mike Aspacher reported at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
“We’ve known that this is coming,” Aspacher said.
Hetrick’s last day as chief will be May 4.
“He has had a very long career dedicated to the safety of Bowling Green and its residents,” the mayor said of Hetrick.
The city charter addresses the process for selecting a successor for the police chief position. City officials will begin that process soon, Aspacher said.
