Bowling Green police cited a man for spitting on the door at Cashland after getting angry with an employee there.
“That could be a bad thing right now,” Lt. Dan Mancuso said this morning about spitting during the coronavirus pandemic.
Jacob M. Protsik, 20, of Perrysburg, was charged with criminal mischief.
Police received a call Thursday at 2:53 p.m., from an employee at Cashland, 1028 N. Main St., Bowling Green. She reported that a customer came in to return a game system, but she refused the return due to recent damage.
The employee said Protsik became angry and called her a lewd name, then left the store and went to his car.
Protsik then reportedly came back to the front of the store and spit on the glass door.
When police arrived, there was a “large amount of saliva” on the door, according to the police report.
The employee said she was nervous and upset due to the orders in place because of COVID-19.
When police contacted Protsik by phone and asked about him spitting on the door, he reportedly said, “I might have done that.”
Protsik was found to have created a risk of physical harm while improperly tampering with the business` glass door by spitting on it.
