BG Police Division arrests man for alleged domestic violence

A Bowling Green man was arrested for domestic violence on Wednesday (June 17) around 4 p.m., at an apartment in the 400 block of Napoleon Road. Matthew Winslow, 42, was taken to Wood County Jail.

The reported victim told Bowling Green Police that she had just arrived home from work when Winslow began beating her. She told police that she had just gotten stitches removed from her eye and she still had staples in the back of her head from being assaulted by Winslow a couple weeks ago.

Winslow told police that the woman had injured herself by falling on a coffee table and hitting her eye. He also reportedly told police that on June 17, the woman smashed his nose and punched him in the mouth – and that he had video of the incident.

The police report noted that officers saw no visible injuries to Winslow, who later said he had no video of the alleged incident.

The woman, however, was bleeding from her head, and had a lump on her head. She told police that Winslow threw her to the ground, and while pinned between a chair and the refrigerator, Winslow kicked her multiple times. She reportedly showed police a dent in the refrigerator that was from her head hitting it.

Police assisted the woman in completing a domestic violence form and victims’ rights form.
