BG Police pursue speeding motorcycle which reportedly turned off lights and reached speed of 100 mph

Bowling Green Police pursued a motorcycle after the operator did not pull over for speeding on Tuesday (11/5). The chase reached speed nearing 100 mph before the officer ended the pursuit.

Around 6:38 p.m., an officer saw two motorcycles traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed on East Poe Road near North Summit Street. One of the motorcycles was clocked at 55 mph in a 25 mph zone.

The officer pursued the motorcycle that was speeding, and saw that the sport bike had no visible license plate. The motorcycle was black and the operator was wearing dark clothing with a black helmet.

When police activated the lights on the patrol car, the motorcycle with no visible plate increased its speed. Just before the Interstate 75 overpass, the operator reportedly turned the lights off on the motorcycle.

The motorcycle continued eastbound on East Poe Road, and reportedly failed to stop for the stop sign on Dunbridge Road.

The pursuit continued on East Poe Road, with the officer reaching speeds of approximately 100 mph, and the motorcycle continuing to pull away. The motorcycle then failed to stop at the stop sign before turning south on Ohio 105.

The motorcycle then turned east on Bowling Green Road East, taking the curve near Housekeeper Road at a high speed, and continuing southbound. The officer began to lose sight of the vehicle at East Napoleon Road and Cloverdale Road, then ended the pursuit at the intersection of Cloverdale and Kramer roads.
