Bowling Green Police Division responded to a report Monday of a man acting strangely and taking off his shirt in a convenience store in the 800 block of South Main Street. He was reportedly scaring female employees.
Employees inside pointed out Michael A. Reese Jr., 25, of Toledo, who at that point was wearing a shirt and a coat and headphones and was sweating profusely.
According to the police report, Reese had a hard time concentrating and kept saying he was going to Franklin Park Mall. He agreed to step outside and talk to a counselor from Unison, a mental health agency.
An officer reported smelling marijunana on Reese, and observed a small baggie of marijuana hanging out of his pants pocket. An officer took possession of the marijuana.
Reese reportedly told a Unison employee that he uses marijuana regularly and also uses other illegal drugs. Reese stated that he had only used marijuana on Monday, and did not want to harm himself or anyone else. Unison reportedly gave Reese a safety plan.
Police cited Reese for drug abuse and possession of less than 100 grams of marijuana. An employee of the convenience store told police the owner wanted Reese banned from the store. Reese was advised that he would be charged with criminal trespassing if he returned.
Reese reportedly told police he understood, and said he had a friend coming to pick him up.
Police then reported that Reese started walking northbound, and turned directly into the next store, a hair salon. An officer reported that he could see Reese talking to a female employee at the front desk. She appeared to be alarmed.
Officers entered the store, while Reese was reportedly having a hard time concentrating, appearing intoxicated. He reportedly told police he wanted to have his eyebrows done, but then said that he wanted to have his sideburns cut.
An officer talked to the hair salon employee who stated she was the only person in the store over lunch time, and the employee who does eyebrows was a lunch. The officer advised Reese of this, and talked with him about his intoxicated and alarming manner, and that his best course of action would be to walk toward the area where his friend agreed to pick him up. He was advised that if he continued to bother businesses, he would end up being arrested and going to jail.
