BG Police respond to panic alarm set off by Door Dash driver

Bowling Green Police responded early Tuesday morning to a Door Dash driver, who said he was attacked by four juveniles as he tried to deliver an order in the 1000 block of North Grove Street.

Police received a panic alarm from the delivery driver around 1 a.m. When they arrived at the apartment complex parking lot, officers found the delivery man unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a car. When he didn’t respond, officers called for the fire division and pulled him out of the vehicle in case they needed to perform CPR. The driver, who responded after sternum rubs, was very disoriented when he regained consciousness.

According to the police report, the 63-year-old delivery man said four juveniles took his keys and threw them. An officer found the keys sitting on the hood of a truck in the parking lot.

The driver, who said he suffered from a heart condition, was taken to Wood County Hospital.

He told police that when he arrived at the apartment complex, he was approached by four males who tried to grab him to get the delivery items and his wallet. He said he resisted, and was struck in his head with the car door. The driver also told police that one of the males grabbed him by the hair and hit his face against the steering wheel, causing him to lose and break several teeth. Police, however, did not find broken teeth and the driver did not have blood or swelling around his mouth, according to the report.
