Bowling Green Police Division responded to a reported theft of a bicycle after a good Samaritan turned out to not be so good.
A resident told police he rode his bicycle to a gas station on North Main Street, Monday around 9 p.m. When he got to the gas station, he noticed that the rear tire on his bike was flat. He told police that an unidentified man approached him and asked if he would like some help repairing the flat tire. He then allowed the man to place his bicycle in the bed of his pickup truck.
The man drove off and the bicycle owner waited – but the man did not return with his bike. So the bicycle owner walked home.
He told police his bicycle was a white and red mountain bike, but he was unsure of the make or model.
