Bowling Green Police are looking for help identifying two males who destroyed one of the city’s trees planted in the downtown.
Around 2:44 Thursday morning, an officer was on patrol when he observed a damaged tree in the 100 block of North Main Street. The tree had been broken in half and the top half was lying on the ground at the base of the tree.
Upon review of the downtown cameras, the officer observed two males destroy the tree at approximately 12:34 a.m. The first suspect was a white male with brown hair wearing a white or khaki shirt and khaki shorts. The male reportedly reached up with both hands grabbing the top portion of the tree. He then sunk his body weight downward bending and ultimately breaking the tree.
The second suspect was a white male with lighter brown hair wearing a pink shirt and khaki shorts. That male approached the broken tree and reportedly ripped it into two pieces leaving the top half of the tree lying on the ground near its trunk.
The males then proceeded east down East Wooster Street with several other males.
Anyone with information about the identity of the men is asked to contact BGPD at 419-352-1131.
