BG resident charged with assault of man in reported ongoing dispute

Bowling Green Police were called to Wood County Hospital Saturday morning for a man who had reportedly been assaulted the day before. The man being treated at the hospital had scratches all over his face, a large hematoma on his upper right chest, and a finger split open due to a bite.

He told police has was attacked Friday around 4:12 p.m., as he left a bank in the 200 block of South Main Street.

Police viewed downtown surveillance video of the incident, noting that it matched the victim’s version of events.

Police cited Jose Mariscal Lopez, 41, Bowling Green, for assault. The incident was reportedly part of an ongoing dispute between the two men.
