A resident of the 300 block of Liberty Street reportedly chased off a person breaking into his vehicle Tuesday around 3:50 a.m.
Bowling Green Police Division was dispatched to the area and spoke to the resident who said he was sitting in his living room when he heard his car alarm go off. The resident said he ran outside and saw a man trying to get into the resident’s car.
The resident told police he chased the suspect to the intersection of Fairview and Conneaut avenues. When he gave up the chase, the suspect continued running down North Maple Street.
Police searched the area for a man matching the description of a white male wearing a dark green hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
Nothing was missing or damaged on the Liberty Street vehicle, and nearby vehicles appeared to be untouched, according to the police report.
