BG students recognized for accomplishments in music, math, art and business

Bowling Green City Schools students were recognized last week for their success in business, music, math and art. The Board of Education acknowledged the hard work of the students during the monthly board meeting.

DECA teacher Cara Maxey shared the successes of the following students:

  • Macy Ash and Londyn Thompson, entrepreneurship team.
  • Alec Ross and Alex Lewis, marketing management team.
  • Michael (Mikey) Kinzel, business finance.
  • Sydney Maas and Jamie Sayen, business operation.
  • Francesca Meek, business operations research.

Music teachers Beth Vaughn and Courtney Boswell recognized the achievements of student vocalists:

  • Gracelyn (Gracie) Boswell, for the All-State Children’s Choir.
  • Cole Boswell and Aidan Thomas, for American Choral Directors National Middle School Honors Choir.

PACE teacher Laura Weaver reported on the Enrichment Program student medalists in the perennial math competition:

Weaver also presented retiring Superintendent Francis Scruci with a medal for his steadfast support of the district’s gifted program.

And art teacher Nicole Myers highlighted students’ caricatures of teachers for high school hallways. Art students also presented the school board with caricatures they created of each board member and of Scruci.
