BG teenager arrested for domestic violence and assault

A Bowling Green juvenile was arrested for domestic violence and assault on Wednesday.

Police responded to a home in the 700 block of South Wintergarden Road around noon, after a call from the 16-year-old’s mother.

According to the mother, she had asked her son the night before to switch bedrooms with one of his brothers because of an allergy issue. The teen reportedly refused and barricaded himself in his bedroom for a period.

Then Wednesday morning, the mom moved her son’s belongings to the porch, and told him he could go live with his father. The teen reportedly called his mom some names and flipped over the kitchen table, so his mom said she grabbed him by the hair and “put him on the ground.”

Her son reportedly kicked her legs and hands repeatedly. His mom’s boyfriend then intervened, and was reportedly punched in the back of the head by the teen.

The teen’s two brothers then stepped in to stop the altercation.

The teen concurred with the details given to police, except he denied calling his mom any foul names.

No one suffered serious physical injuries. The teen was taken to Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.
