Bowling Green Planning Commission found out during Wednesday’s meeting where the city grew last year, and where street, water and sewer improvements would be made this year.

Bowling Green issued a total of 414 zoning permits last year, compared to 382 the year before.

Residential zoning permits were approved for 35 new homes, 72 accessory buildings, 32 additions, 97 fences, 18 pools or hot tubs, and 65 driveways or patios.

Commercial zoning permits were issued for four new buildings, four accessory buildings, and 41 signs. Those included permits for Lmaries at 333 S. Main St., Dunkin Donuts at 1049 S. Main St., and Northwestern Water & Sewer District’s watershed at 989 S. Main St.

Industrial zoning permits were approved for one new building for Schwind Electric at 870 Miller Drive.

Institutional zoning permits were OKed for five new buildings, including the Veterans Building in City Park, the new Wood County Senior Center at 140 S. Grove St., and two modular structures at Conneaut and Crim elementary schools.

Permits were also approved at several commercial and industrial locations where more than $2,500 was spent on building improvements. Those included:
