A Bowling Green woman was arrested for domestic violence on Wednesday. Robin Snyder, 26, who has one prior domestic violence conviction, was taken to the Wood County jail.
Bowling Green Police Division received a call around 10:30 p.m. about a possible assault in an apartment on Eighth Street. Officers spoke with the victim, who is the father of four children between the ages of 2 and 9.
The victim said his girlfriend, Snyder, who he shares the apartment with, became upset when one of his children walked into the bedroom without her permission. The victim told police they started to argue and throw things around the apartment. He said Snyder became physical and put her hands on him, and he then attempted to grab Snyder to push her away in order to defend himself.
The father then walked outside of the apartment with his children. While he was walking outside, Snyder reportedly threw a glass cup at him, striking him in the back left shoulder. Police observed a small red abrasion on his left shoulder blade.
Police attempted to speak with Snyder, but she refused to open the door into the apartment. The victim used his key to let police in. Snyder then reportedly refused to come out of the bathroom.
When she did come out of the bathroom, Snyder told police she became angry with the father because his kids wouldn’t stop bothering her. Snyder said that while they were arguing, the father broke the door hinge to the bedroom, and slapped her in the mouth and threw her to the ground. Police were not able to observe any bruises or markings on Snyder, according to the report.
The father said he was willing to leave the apartment with his children, as long as he could get some of their belongings first. According to the police report, Snyder then became uncooperative and refused to tell the father where his children`s car seats were.
Police arrested Snyder for domestic violence. An officer spoke with a neighbor in the apartment building, who said she saw Snyder throw the glass cup which hit the victim. She also advised that she heard Snyder yell “I`ll kill you if you come back in this apartment.”
