BG woman arrested for reportedly hosting party with underage drinking

A Bowling Green woman has been arrested by police on eight counts of failure to comply with underage alcohol laws.

Carol Rife, 52, of the 1000 block of East Clough Street, was charged by Bowling Green Police Division after reportedly hosting a gathering where minors were served alcohol.

Police discovered the alleged violations after social media posts came to officers’ attention during another investigation.

“We’ve always tried to identify people hosting underage parties,” BGPD Lt. Dan Mancuso said. “It’s always been an ongoing focus for us.”

In the past, there was often no record of the incidents, he said. However, now teens often record the gatherings and post online, Mancuso added.

According to the report, Rife hosted a party on Oct. 12 during Bowling Green High School homecoming weekend. Eight juveniles ranging in age from 16-18 were at the party.

Photos and video reportedly showed the eight juveniles in attendance plus more. Rife reportedly handed out shots containing alcohol. Four other adults are listed in the report but have not been charged.
