BG woman killed in crash on Route 6 Wednesday evening

A Bowling Green woman was killed in a crash east of the city Wednesday (Sept. 20) evening.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office responded at 8:36 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash at U.S. 6 and Huffman Road in Center Township. The crash involved a 2004 Lexus SUV, driven by Sally Doren, 80, of Bowling Green, and a 2016 Kenworth heavy duty wrecker. 

According to the sheriff’s office investigation, the Lexus was traveling northbound on Huffman Road when it reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign at Route 6. The Kenworth truck was traveling westbound on Route 6. The Lexus struck the side of the Kenworth, then traveled off the south side of the roadway. 

Doren was reportedly ejected from the SUV. She was transported by ambulance to Wood County Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. 

The driver of the Kenworth was uninjured.

Assisting on location was Mid County 120 EMS, Center Township Fire Department, Ohio Department of Transportation, and Or’s Towing.

The crash is still under investigation.
