BG Women’s Club holds National Wreaths Across America Day event at courthouse veterans memorial plaza

GFWC Women’s Club of Bowling Green presented an official National Wreaths Across America Day Ceremony at Wood County Courthouse Veterans Memorial Plaza.

GFWC Women’s Club of Bowling Green presented an official National Wreaths Across America Day Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 16, to honor and remember those who have served and are serving in the nation’s armed services, including the fallen, prisoners of war, those missing in action, and the families of all.

Kim Roessner, president of GFWC Women’s Club of Bowling Green, gave opening remarks before official wreaths of live balsam fir were laid at the foot of each memorial at the Wood County Courthouse Veterans Memorial by former presidents of the club and members of the Paul C. Ladd VFW Post 1148. 

The Women’s Club also furnished wreaths placed at Oak Grove Cemetery and Memory Gardens by members of the BG American Legion Post 45. 

Lynne Comings and Linda Frizzell, Civic Engagement and Outreach chairs, researched and organized this official ceremony.
