The person who called in a bomb threat to Bowling Green City Schools this afternoon has reportedly been identified and charges are pending.
Bowling Green Police Division has confirmed there was no credible threat.
All after school activities resumed as scheduled.
According to an email sent out to parents by Superintendent Francis Scruci, at 12:27 p.m., Bowling Green High School Principal Dan Black received a voicemail in his office from an unknown caller who left a message saying, “There is something in one of your school buildings that is going to go boom boom. You better get before it goes boom boom. Bye Boo.”
Students were immediately evacuated. Students who ride the bus were transported beginning with high school and middle school to ensure that older siblings can be home before younger siblings are dropped off. Once secondary students were delivered by bus, the buses returned to pick up the elementary students.
The school district worked closely with Bowling Green Police Division, which secured each of the five school building locations.
Students were in safe locations at each school, outside of the building.
Parents were advised they could come to the schools to pick up their students by car at their discretion.
Bowling Green police officers located the caller at his residence, and determined there was no credible threat. The investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending.
