Bowling Green Police Division has released more details about an armed robbery that took place at Circle K, at 1602 E. Wooster St., resulting in the arrest of Joshua Cox, 25, of Pemberville.

Cox was charged with aggravated robbery and possession of criminal tools.  He was lodged at the Wood County Jail.

On July 13, at about 11 p.m., police were dispatched to 1602 E. Wooster St. for a robbery that had just happened at the Circle K store. Dispatch advised that the suspect was a white male weighing about 300 pounds with a shirt over his face.

The store clerk told police that a large white male came into the store with his face covered and attempted to purchase two beers. The clerk said he refused to make the sale without identification and the man left. The suspect returned soon after and showed the clerk an Ohio driver’s license.

The clerk said that the suspect then came behind the counter and produced a large knife. Cox reportedly demanded money and told him that the company was insured. The clerk said that the suspect told him that he had to do it or the suspect would be killed. The clerk said that the suspect reached into the register drawer and took all of the cash and then walked out of the store.

The suspect then walked out the store and was last seen walking toward the east.
