BGPD responds to at least 16 vehicles broken into overnight on East Side

Bowling Green Police Division responded to reports of at least 16 vehicles reportedly being broken into on the East Side of Bowling Green on Tuesday, July 14.

Following are the reports that came into BGPD:

  • In the 500 block of Clough Street, a resident advised that the door to a white Ford Fusion was open. When police arrived, the car was open, and it appeared as if all the compartments had been gone through. When contacted by police, the owner said someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and rifled through it, taking $20 in cash and her bank debit/credit card.
  • On Third Street, a resident reported her locked Ford Focus was broken into overnight. She was unsure of how the suspect entered the car. Missing were her black and purple Michael KORS purses, her Social Security card, Michigan driver`s license, Marine dependent identification, $20 in cash, prescription sunglasses, American One Visa Card, and an unknown amount of a prescription drug.
  • In the 200 block of Manville Avenue, several cars were reportedly entered overnight. Stolen from one vehicle, an unlocked Nissan Altima, was a Tommy Hilfiger wallet and two sets of keys to the car. At the same address, a Mazda 6  and a Honda Accord were also entered, but nothing was stolen from either. A fourth vehicle was found with the passenger door slightly ajar, and the center console open. The vehicle had a flat tire, and it appeared to have been sitting in the same spot for quite awhile. The owner said items taken from her car included two pair of Brooks running shoes, one pair of women’s sandals, the registration card for the vehicle, and the insurance card for the vehicle.
  • In the 800 block of Seventh Street, a Mazda 3 was reportedly entered through an unlocked rear door. Stolen were an Apple auxiliary cord and phone charger cord, a silver-studded Guess watch, a $100 Marshall’s gift card, and $15 in cash.
  • In the 600 block of Second Street, an unlocked vehicle was entered overnight. Stolen were $20 in cash and a Kermit’s restaurant gift card.
  • Also in the 600 block of Second Street, a resident reported that his unlocked vehicle was entered overnight. Missing were a pair of Oakley Flak Jacket sunglasses.
  • In the 100 block of North Summit Street, a theft of sunglasses and loose change was reported from an unlocked vehicle.
  • Also on North Summit Street, another unlocked vehicle was entered. Taken were a pair of sunglasses and a Door Dash debit card.
  • In the 800 block of Second Street, coins and personal papers were reportedly stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
  • In the 300 block of North Enterprise Street, two vehicles were entered overnight. Approximately $20 was stolen from the center console of a Ford Focus. Stolen from the trunk of a Nissan Sentra was a purple Adidas backpack, which contained a Texas Instruments graphing calculator.
  • In the 100 block of South College Avenue, two vehicles were entered. Two IDs and a credit card were reported stolen.
