Bowling Green State University is preparing for the annual Presidents Day Open House

Event, its biggest prospective student event of the year. As of right now, more than 1400 perspective students are registered from 20 different states.

The event offers a personalized opportunity for students to visit BGSU.

Brandi Barhite, Director of Enrollment Communications at BGSU, described the event as a “choose your own adventure day.”

“What’s really unique about it is most high schools are closed that day because it’s Presidents Day,” Barhite said. “We’re open though, so the students can come to campus and get to see BG in full swing, do the hustle and bustle and interact with current students and faculty.”

Prospective students can decide what they are interested in learning more about and go from there. They have the option to take a campus tour, learn about living on campus, interact with specific academic majors and departments, learn about studying abroad and much more.

“Honestly, there are so many different choices, you couldn’t do them all. You would have to pick five or six of your top activities for the day, depending on your interest,” Barhite said.

And with fewer seniors graduating in general, it’s all the more important to BGSU to show prospective students why BGSU is the right fit for them.

“BGSU is continually promoting ourselves as that ultimate university experience,” Barhite said. “Our college town is nationally ranked and continually we’re lauded for having that really great college town atmosphere.”

The President’s Day Open House Event takes place on Feb. 20 and is open for registration until the day before. For more information or to register, visit bgsu.edu/presidentsday, or contact the Office of Admissions at 419-372-2478 or choosebgsu@bgsu.edu.
