Bowling Green State University is holding its first in-person commencement exercises in more than a year starting today, April 30. The ceremonies, which run through Sunday, will recognize the achievements of graduates in the Classes of 2020 and 2021.
In-person commencement will be held outdoors, rain or shine, at Doyt L. Perry Stadiumon the following dates and times:
- Today, April 30, at 7 p.m.
- Saturday, May 1, at 9 a.m.
- Saturday, May 1, at 2 p.m.
- Saturday, May 1, at 7 p.m
- Sunday, May 2, at 9 a.m.
- Sunday, May 2, at 2 p.m.
BGSU is working closely with the Wood County Health Department and the Ohio Department of Health to ensure all commencement activities adhere to health and safety guidelines. All graduates and guests are required to wear face coverings and keep at least six feet from others not in their household.
For graduates or guests not able to attend, all ceremonies will be livestreamed at BGSU.edu and on Facebook. A virtual celebration will also be available for graduates who wish to celebrate virtually. Videos of graduate names read by each college will be available online.
Class of 2020 and 2021 by the numbers
In the 2020 and Spring 2021 graduating classes, there are 7,077 candidates; 398 will be presented associate degrees, 5,005 will be presented bachelor degrees, 1,409 masters degrees and 105 doctoral degrees.
- Of the undergrads, 2,132 have also earned honors based upon high GPAs
- 14% of our graduates are students of color
- 62% are women
- There are 275 international students, representing 41 countries from all over the world
- Of those students receiving associates degrees, the youngest is 18 and the oldest is 60
- Of those students receiving bachelor’s degrees, the youngest is 19 and the oldest is 64
- The youngest master’s degree recipient is 21 and the oldest is 70
- For doctoral degree recipients, the youngest is 26 and the oldest is 69
- Graduates range in age from 18 to 70
