Billy D Stokes

Billy D. Stokes, 72, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Friday April 8, 2016. He was born March 15, 1944 in Todd County, Kentucky to Ed and Della (Upton) Stokes. He married Barbara Arnold and she survives him in Bowling Green. Bill owned B & B Welding Truck and Auto Repair from 1988-2008 and B & B Transporters LLC from 2006-2011. He was an OTR truck driver. Some will remember Bill for his love of dirt track racing with his car “Wild Bill’ #48 that he drove in Fremont, Findlay and Oakshade. Along with his wife of 27 years, Barbara, Bill is survived by his sons Billy Joe Stokes, David (Christy) Stokes and Robert (Heather) Stokes all of Bowling Green, Ohio, three sisters Louise Tabb of Elkton, Kentucky, Janie Russell of Fairview, Kentucky and Diane Lancaster of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and special ex-brother-in-law George DeCair of Holland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Thurstin, Ed Jr., Dorris and Jim Stokes, two sisters Helen Russell and Anabelle Ewing, ex-wife Sara (Sally) Stokes and grandson Ed Jerald. Visitation will be held on Monday April 11, 2016 from 10:30am until the time of the funeral service at 12:30pm at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. Pastor Bob Lamb will officiate. Interment will follow at Jerry City Cemetery. Following interment at the cemetery, the family would like to invite everyone to a luncheon that will be held at the Center Township Fire Hall on Bowling Green Road East.
