Bobcat Band to honor veterans, frontline workers with stadium show

The Bobcat Marching band will perform its second Bobcat Band Show #2 with a theme of paying tribute to veterans and those in the frontlines of the battle with COVID.

The performance will be  Saturday, Sept. 26t at 7 p.m. at the Bowling Green High School Stadium, 530 W. Poe Road. (Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 27 at 3 p.m.)

The program will include pop and patriotic selections. Special guest will be Tom Gorman and his daughter, Anna Gorman.

The performance is free and veterans, active military, safety forces, and healthcare workers, along with their guests, will be offered preferred seating at the event. A special “check in” table for them and their guests will be located at the front gate. All they need to do is themselves a as one of the honorees and they will be directed to the special seating.

There is parking adjacent to the football stadium and near the

Bowling Green Middle School.

In consideration of current health orders, please be aware of the following:

  •  All guests are seated on the field (the band will be in the grandstand). Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to your seating area. Volunteers will help guests to their seating area.
  •  Each group will be seated in 15 x 15 square foot areas on the field to ensure safe social distancing.
  • Masks are required.

The band believes: “Our local community, and particularly our local heroes, hold a special place in the hearts of our Bobcat Band members and families. Your attendance would be meaningful to our Band and provide our community a humble opportunity to say “thank you” to those who have served and are serving in our military, those who keep our community safe on a daily basis, and those who have been on the healthcare front lines during these difficult times as our community deals with Covid. Your service and sacrifice to our community are noticed and appreciated.”
