Candidates file to appear on primary ballot for county and state offices

Candidates for some Wood County and state offices have filed for the March 19, 2024, primary election. The Wood County Board of Elections will meet Thursday, Dec. 21, to certify the candidates to appear on the ballot.

Following is a list of those who filed by this week’s deadline:

2nd Ohio Senate District

  • Democrat Paloma De La Fuente, Perrysburg.
  • Republican Theresa Gavarone, Bowling Green.

75th Ohio House District

  • Democrat Jan K. Materni, Perrysburg.
  • Republican Sally Culling, Perrysburg.
  • Republican Haraz N. Ghanbari, Perrysburg.

Judge of Wood County Common Pleas Court

  • Republican Molly Mack, Perrysburg.

Wood County Commissioner (term commencing on Jan. 2, 2025)

  • Craig LaHote, Perrysburg.

Wood County Commissioner (term commencing on Jan. 3, 2025)

  • Democrat Philip Chrysler, Bowling Green.
  • Republican Ted Bowlus, Pemberville.
  • Republican Cory B. Kuhlman, Perrysburg.

Wood County Clerk of Common Pleas Court

  • Republican Douglas F. Cubberley, Bowling Green.

Wood County Coroner

  • Republican Douglas W. Hess, North Baltimore.

Wood County Engineer

  • Republican John M. Musteric, Perrysburg.

Wood County Prosecuting Attorney

  • Republican Paul A. Dobson, Bowling Green.

Wood County Recorder

  • Democrat Jeremy Schroeder, Weston.

Also filing to appear on the primary election ballot were three school district issues and one library issue:

  • Perrysburg Exempted Village School District: 2.65 mill bond issue, 36 years, additional 0.85 mills for continuing period.
  • Otsego Local School District: 0.50% income tax for five years.
  • Anthony Wayne Local School: Additional 2.42 mills, for five years.
  • Perrysburg City: Replacement 1.9 mills for four years for Way Library.
