A catalytic converter was stolen from a Northwest Community Corrections Center van on Aug. 24.

According to the Bowling Green Police Division report, a staff member arriving to work at 5:30 a.m. that day reportedly saw a vehicle drive away from the rear of the correction center’s parking lot at 1740 E. Gypsy Lane Road. He thought it was suspicious, but nothing seemed to be disturbed.

When a staff member tried to drive the transport van on Aug. 31, it was discovered that the catalytic converter had been stolen.

The staff went back over surveillance video, and saw that the person seen leaving the parking lot on Aug. 24 had been under the transport van.

The vehicle was a dark blue older model Dodge Durango, with quite a few stickers or decals on the rear window. The driver was a white male with longer hair.
