Bowling Green Fire Division responded to a small fire in Wintergarden Park in the early morning hours of last Saturday.
Deputy Chief Aaron Baer said the fire burned about 500 square feet of a grassy area near the intersection of Rudolph and Sand Ridge roads.
Two neighbors of the park reported hearing a “boom” around 12:24 a.m., and pulled a garden hose over to try to extinguish the blaze. When the fire division arrived the fire was actively burning, but was put out quickly, Baer said.
The cause of the fire was not determined.
“There was no indication of how it started,” Baer said.
