Christopher A Meyers

Christopher “Chris” Meyers, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
Chris was born in Toledo, Ohio to Lois (Melka) and Clifford Meyers. He married Marsha Wunderley on April 16, 1983 and they lovingly shared 39 years and 5 children together.

Chris is survived by his children: Rachel, James, Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Caleb Meyers; cherished grandchildren: Giovanni, Santino, and Violet; honorary daughter, Erika Frey (Jim Schoenhofer), their children Madilyn, Carly and Taylor; faithful pups: Moxie and Lexi; and twin sisters Sherry and Cheryl. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clifford and Lois; wife, Marsha; a brother, Mike; and beloved dogs: Easy and Abby.

Chris graduated from Whitmer High School in Toledo, which is where he met his wife Marsha in 1974. Post graduation, he joined the US Army serving his country from 1974 to 1976. After an Honorable Discharge, Chris went on to work for the USPS- Perrysburg Branch; where he spent almost 30 years before being able to enjoy an early retirement in 2015. One of Chris’ favorite pastimes was making sure he had the greenest lawn on the cul-de-sac followed by soaking up the sun by the family pool. He also enjoyed fixing things himself, often crediting his time spent in the Army as to how he was so savvy around the house. On top of that, Chris was a sports fan who had a soft spot for the Detroit Lions and the Toledo Mudhens. Another favorite pastime included taking his children and grandchildren to games. Chris was also a dedicated member of Grace United Methodist Church in Perrysburg where he helped set-up coffee and donuts before Sunday morning services. Previous to joining Grace, he was an active member of Zoar Lutheran where he taught Sunday School for many years.
It should be mentioned that all Chris truly ever wanted was nothing more than to spend time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial contributions may be gifted to Grace United Methodist Church, iDance Performing Arts Center, or DSAGT Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo.
