Barry McGraw, founder and chief laboratory officer of Ohio-based Airable Research Lab, will be the guest speaker for the July CIFT Agricultural Forum.
He will speak about “Soy-based Product Development and Commercialization” during the presentation on July 20 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The presentation will be available in person at the Northwest Ohio Cooperative Kitchen, 13737 Middleton Pike, Bowling Green, or via Zoom.
Airable Research Lab, based in Delaware, Ohio, and a business line of the Ohio Soybean Council, leverages decades of experience and knowledge in the soybean industry to create innovative and sustainable solutions in research and product development through bio-based chemistry. The lab partners with companies to explore ideas for using soybeans to upgrade a product or invent something entirely new.
Their work features technologies in soy-based cationic surfactant, scale inhibitor and soy-based plasticizer and polyol. They also have developed Roof Maxx and DeWalt Bar & Cham Oil.
The Ohio Soybean Council, governed by a volunteer farmer board, directs the soybean promotion and research program with the goal to improve soybean profitability through farmer-contributed funds for research, development, marketing and education projects.
McGraw, who is also the director of product development and commercialization for the soybean council, is a graduate of Shawnee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering. He also earned an MBA certification from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.
The presentation is free and open to the public; however, participants must RSVP to attend in person or via Zoom.
