City of BG asks its employees and visitors to wear masks in city buildings

The city of Bowling Green issued a letter to city employees today that recommends individuals and employees wear a mask when indoors in public settings and in shared areas, or within a confined space such as when sharing a vehicle.

The letter sent to city employees this afternoon, noted that Wood County is currently at a “high” rate of community transmission for COVID.

The city cited information shared earlier in the day by the Wood County Health Department: “In its updated guidance, the CDC recommends that everyone, including fully vaccinated people, wear masks in indoor public settings in communities with “substantial” or “high” transmission. This includes employers, retailers, restaurants and bars, fitness and recreational centers, libraries, governmental entities, healthcare facilities and other public venues. Adding a mask indoors will help further protect those who can’t yet get the vaccine, including children under 12 and people with health conditions that limit the effectiveness of the vaccine.”
